The gig is ON
July 22, 2002    1:05 pm GMT

Alright everybody,

It's time to dust off the t-shirt, shake the shoes and get ready to move like crazy. IE are back.

CP is on the road to recovery and the Summer Hols have been had. THIS SATURDAY sees IndigoEcho hit the sunny streets of Glasgow with their brand of Rock & Roll that has been locked away since March.

You can catch then at the OneNightInTheSun event at Findlay Memorial. Check out Wesley Owen in Edinburgh or Glasgow for tickets and info.

Also playing are SuperHero and Luna Halo.

Check it right out, and thanks for keeping it IE?

NICE

The day the music carried on regardless...
May 31, 2002    5:01 pm GMT

Well it's about time that you get a bit of an update.

IE watchers will be aware that we are due to be recording last weekend. The good news is that we were, but here is how it all happened:

Wednesday night - collect the instruments, gather the troops and drive for a few hours. Seems easy enough until:

1) CP gets a fairly serious infection that rules him out of the game.

2) The van gets a puncture and the jack is not complete so we can't change it without calling the breakdown people.

3) We leave Edinburgh 2 hours late.

Thursday sees us travel to Mull and then have to dig the car through a little mud and gravel. Then we were missing two cables that stopped us doing what we needed to do.

Right then.

So we spent the time (waiting for an IE trustee to bring the cables) writing a few new songs! Bonus.

Saturday came and then we really got going: 11 songs, Drums & Bass in the can.

Sunday, and 5 songs, Guitars in the can.

All we can say is - keep the faith, it's worth it.

Peace & Love.

The IE boys.

Press Release
May 13, 2002    8:01 am GMT

Guitarists may be used to breaking strings, plectrum's and the occasional nail, but IndigoEcho's Rik has broken his right wrist. He will be out of action for 4 to 6 weeks - so no suntan on that arm then.

With the idea of getting into World Cup mode, Clive and Rik were playing football, when super-goalie Brown made that extra leap too far and did the damage.

So the band have cancelled this Monday's event at La Belle Angel, but recording will commence on the new project as planned. Rik won't be allowed near a guitar. Or football.

So you can have a read of the latest IndigoEcho news here - and even check on the stuff you've missed recently. Nice one.

MP3 chart success for IndigoEcho.

After a few months in the Mp3 charts, Tower and Coming Home have re-entered the Uk Mp3 Guitar rock 100 chart at 78 and 92.

Indigoecho have all four songs in the Edinburgh top 20. So keep us in the charts and take us higher - click on www.mp3.com/indigoecho and tell your mates too.

New Tunes
April 22, 2002    8:37 am GMT

Howdy,

Well, it's a been a while since I said hello, so....

Hello!

(sorry, that was a little un-original).

Well, we've been busy boys and have been banging out the new tunes at an alarming rate of knots....

Recording is due to commence on our next project within the next few weeks, and we hope to have a few quality gigs to showcase the new material at the end of the summer.

In other news, Rik-Boy is doing some more exams (even though he's finished University), CP has been taking some R&R with the family, Gary's been doing some decorating and I'm getting ready to move house.

Nothing stays still in the land of IE!

peace-out until the next time.

Later

IE Spring tour Part deux and other bits and bobs - finally
March 24, 2002    6:42 pm GMT

Sorry for the delay in the second instalment.

We are just recovering from the 4 late nights in a row. (we need to get used to this touring stuff).

Dundee Westport Bar:
Cully did a great Job and got the crowd going with his acoustic set. He was mobbed by fans afterwards who thought he was Henrik Larson!

Boomhauer played a great set and it looks like IE will play another set in Dundee with them at some point.

What about IndigoEcho's set?
It went smoothly with Guitar changes assisted by Jamie now in full guitar tech mode.
The new songs such as 'illuminate' and 'I'm going to get there' continued to get a great response.

Edinburgh Mercat:

Last night of the tour and another town another fast food meal (burrpp)...The night went well with a good crowd.

Indigoecho went on at 11.30pm (nice and early then) and again played a set with old fave's such as Colours alongside new tunes such as 'Broken Glass'.

Thanks to Jamie and David for helping as the IE Crew.

Gigs:

We will be doing a couple of great tours in October/November so all will be revealed later.

For now we are working on the last couple of songs to go on to the new CD and then we will be heading off to studioland in May/June.

We will keep you informed and even throw in a few suprises here and there.

Until next time

2 down, 2 to go
March 08, 2002    12:43 pm GMT

With the University leg of the Spring tour complete, bring on the venues.

Wednesday 6 March:

The train strike in Scotland put the brakes on the Strathclyde University union gig, but the show was still great. Neil Alton opened up in his own inimitable style and then the IE boys rocked the house down.

Top Dog.

Thursday 7 March:

Without mentioning "HRH" the St Andrew's Union put on a great show with Neil again proving his pedigree. The IE boys played their longest ever set (1hr 40!) so you can imagine that things were nice and warm!

Two special moments - one was people we don't know singing along to the tunes and the other was a full-fat encore of the Nervour Passenger anthem "When the body breaks" (with Neil Alton joining CP for some high-octane vocalisation).

Top night.

So bring on Dundee and Edinburgh, the roadshow is on the way.

PS - Big Thanks to the Crew - Dav, Jamie & Stevie.

D'you want a piece o' this?

Well, do you?

Last day before the IE Spring tour.

Are you up for it? Good, we look forward to seeing you on the road over the next four days.

Check out www.cdbaby.com/indigoecho and click on the Face Away/Coming Home link.

Peace

Won't you come on Home?
March 01, 2002    9:36 am GMT

The countdown is on - 5 days to go until the Spring Tour 2002.

To coincide with the tour, we have released Coming Home (edit) on MP3.com (www.mp3.com/indigoecho). Here are a few words on this track from www.CDBABY.com/indigoecho:

"The second track is an indication of where this band is going... It is easily their best work to date! A chilled out, guitar driven song with heart felt lyrics and a well crafted instrumental, this track will captivate you and force you to listen to it again and again. The CD is worth it for this song alone."

So check out MP3.com and add Coming Home to your MP3 collection.

We look forward to seeing you at a gig near you soon.

peace.

The Chef.

Secret Location?
February 22, 2002    7:35 pm GMT

Well, secret location or not, The Chef writes on....(those of you not on the e-mail list won't get that - you can sign-up at the bottom of this page. See what I did there?)

Only two weeks to go until the March Tour - are you up for it? You can get hold of flyers to tell the world about the gigs - e-mail us and we'll send you a bunch of them, but only if you promise to give them away to interested people (not your dog/cat etc).

MC Stubin has been pestering us to get you lot to e-mail him your reviews of an IE CD or gig - check out www.indigoecho.co.uk.

That's enough of me... I'm off to chill with the Missus.

Peace & Joy!

The Chef.

January 28, 2002    8:17 am GMT

Greetings.

Well, what a weekend. If your w'end was half as good at ours, then you've had a real rollercoaster ride.

It started for CP in Durham on Thursday - playing guitar like a little lost boy in the midst of a black-tie dinner.

On Saturday, Gary, Rik & I headed south to join the Parnell and ended up rocking the Ballroom down.

Big up to the fortydays crew and the Exceptionally Rev Mike Jolley - you guys are great.

As for Kennoway - thanks to Quinn and well, let's hope that the stalkers get themselves sortred out....

All in all, a lot of (windy) miles, a little chef too many and two quality gigs.

See you in March.

The Chef.

Rumours of Rumours
January 21, 2002    12:15 pm GMT

Howdy,

Well, it's zooming towards the end of January 2002 already. Pretty weird, eh?

So Cptn Stubin's website (www.indigoecho.co.uk) has been spouting rumours that IE will be touring in March. I can't deny that. Where we'll be is remaining a top-level secret until the whole tour is finalised, so keep checking back for info....

....or send us your mobile number and we'll send you a text with the dates (text@indigoecho.com).

....or you can sign up for e-mail stuff (use the box below).

Did you know that a year ago at this time, Quinn and I were planning the first stages of recording the Single (Fade Away/Coming Home). Who's to say that we ain't doing that now?

Check it

The Chef.

Happy New Year?
January 07, 2002    9:08 am GMT

Fancy doing a surprise gig?!

Well, that was what woke me up on Saturday Morning - our friends Aieris were unable to do a gig at the Mercat, Edinburgh and wanted us to stand in for them.....

Fair enough...so the first IE outing for 2002 was to play the tunes, full-fat, no prisoner-stylee in the corner of an Edinburgh venue!

Sweet.

Sorry that I didn't tell ya'll about it. but I just couldn't get near a computer in time!

Maybe next time!

Peace.
